In the past I've posted about how much we love SwaddleDesigns, and the new Angry Birds Collection is no exception! It's the same great quality products that we've come to expect (and love) from SwaddleDesigns, now combined with the hot new trend of Angry Birds. I'll admit that I personally haven't played Angry Birds yet, but my soon to be sister in law was super excited when she saw Ella wearing her new onesie!

I love that SwaddleDesigns has really expanded this collection and included onesies and stuffed animals. Think of how cute an Angry Birds gift basket would be at a baby shower for a "geeky" couple! I have so many friends who would go crazy over them. I know what our new "go to" baby gift will be!

Willow's First Date

Zach had two tickets for a soccer game tonight, but neither of our parents could watch the kids. Instead of letting the extra ticket go to waste Zach decided to take Willow with him. He's never taken the kids anywhere by himself so she was super excited to have her first date with Daddy! She spent all afternoon getting ready and waiting for him to get home from work so she could go see soccer (where "guys wear socks").

She picked out a Matilda Jane apron dress, tulle trimmed leggings and rolled rosette head band complete with maraboo feathers. She even topped her outfit off with painted toes and lipgloss. Not exactly an appropriate outfit for a soccer game, but she had a great time picking it out.

Evidently she lasted about 20 minutes before she said "Willow is all done"and she was ready to go home. Turns out popcorn makes soccer way more interesting.

Sisterly Love

I found Ella and Madeline sleeping like this. They really are best friends!

Way to make things awkward Zach

Yesterday Zach (the daddy) and I went to see The Lucky One in the movie theatre. As we were leaving I said "Is it weird that I think Zac Efron suddenly got really hot?" I was thinking that it was a little awkward since he's the kid from High School Musical and everything that it might be a bit odd. Zach said "yea it is weird since he looks just like your little brother." Then I realized he was right...gross.

Rubbermaid 2 in 1 Recycler Review and Giveaway

Like most parents I try to set a good example for my kids, but sometimes when you're a busy mom of three setting a good example can be hard, especially when it requires taking extra steps. We live with my future in laws and through out the day we collect a lot of trash. Taking the recyclables out was just one extra thing to add to my already busy day, and I found it hard to convince anyone else that they should be taking them out to their own bin. I often found that our plastic bottles and egg cartons were ending up in the regular trash. The Rubbermaid 2 in 1 Recycler solves all our problems!

"The 2-in-1 Recycler makes recycling easy! This two-unit bin allows you to either contain trash and recyclables all in one location or sort recyclables. The top unit is perfect for collecting recyclables and has a fold away handle that makes it easy to take out and empty into your recycling bin. The lower bin tilts out for easy access, and holds an 8 gallon trash bag in place with the Liner Lock™ system. Alternatively, you can use the lower bin to sort another type of recyclable and carry it out with the built-in handles."

  • Contain trash and recyclables all in one location or sort your recyclables
  • Sleek design blends into kitchen décor
  • Features LinerLock™ bag management in lower bin
  • Removable lid
  • Fold-away handles
  • 5.8 gal sorting bin
  • 7.4 gal tilt out bin with Liner Lock™ handles
  • Total capacity = 13.2 gal
  • Perfect for multi-stream or single stream recycling
We're loving the convenience and ease of having everything combined and in once place! Willow is so excited to take the recycling bin out to dump in the big bin (our city collects everything in once large container once a week). She says that it's her "job". The 2-in-1 Recycler is making our lives easy, and it can make your life easier too!

I received one or more of the above listed products for review purposes. My opinion was not influenced in any way. Your experience with Rubbermaid and their products may be different then my own, please see our disclosure policy for more details.

Picture Sharing

It's been awhile. Things are a little crazy around here! I have a few reviews and giveaways to post in the next few days, but for now how about some pictures!

We bought Willow this dress on our pre-Mexico shopping trip. She's in love! She thinks she's a princess and has to model it for us whenever she puts it on.

The Easter Bunny came to visit us, but so did Grandma, Pepa and Auntie Lisa. Somehow our Easter ended up looking like this...

Sesame Street: Big Elmo Fun

Being a stay at home mom, I'm always looking for ways to keep all three of the girls entertained while I get housework done. Sure we do lots of playing, reading, and coloring, but sometimes Mommy has to do a load of laundry downstairs and needs something to keep the little guys from destroying the house (last time I attempted laundry without a distraction I ended up with a lipstick and mascara mural on the wall). Luckily for me, Willow, Ella, and Madeline all love movies, and they especially love Elmo! Needless to say I was super excited when we were offered a copy of Sesame Street: Big Elmo Fun! for review!

"Elmo embarks on some gigantic adventures in Sesame Street: Big Elmo Fun! In “Elmozilla,” he is accidentally enlarged and towers over all of Sesame Street. While Abby tries to figure out how to get Elmo back to his normal size, kids will learn all about measurement as they help solve Elmo’s BIG problem. In “Elmo and the Monarch Butterfly” children will learn about science and observation.  Finally, in a spoof of the hit cooking show Iron Chef, Elmo stirs up even more fun in a silly cooking competition “Cast Iron Cooks,” with Jason Schwartzman as the judge. In all three episodes, children are introduced to new vocabulary such as fascinating, metamorphosis, ingredient and measure. Kids and caregivers are in for a BIG treat with two brand-new songs, and the “Flutter By, Butterfly” animated book to reinforce the lessons learned during Elmo’s adventures.

“Warner Home Video is thrilled to bring Elmo’s latest adventure to DVD with the release of Sesame Street: Big Elmo Fun,” said Jeff Brown, WHV Executive Vice President and GM of Non-Theatrical Franchise. “With brand-new songs, an animated book, and a full-length bonus DVD, preschoolers will have loads of Big Elmo Fun while enriching their cognitive reasoning and math skills.”

Our copy of Sesame Street: Big Elmo Fun arrived this morning, and Willow was so excited to open the package. When she saw that it was Elmo, she started yelling "Oh happy day Mommy!" and begged to put it on. In the first episode, "Elmozilla", Elmo is really sad when he realizes that he hasn't grown as much as Abby, and asks her to do a magic spell to make him big. Of course Abby's spell backfires and Elmo ends up being too big! Willow kept saying "Oh no Elmo too big!" "Elmo no fit" and "Poor Elmo!" Soon elmo realizes that being big isn't all it's cracked up to be, and is able to return to his normal size. Willow was so relived to see Elmo back to normal! "Elmo just right!"

She also loved watching "Elmo and the Monarch Butterfly" and learning all about butterflies and what they eat. She was so excited to see Elmo dressed up as a "flutterby" and to see all his flutterby friends on screen. "Cast Iron Cooks" was also great and had her giggling a few times! Your little one will love Sesame Street: Big Elmo Fun, make sure to get your copy when it becomes available on April 3rd! Big Elmo Fun is available for preorder on Amazon for only $11.99!
